Manumission by the treasurer of the monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses in favor of Arnau for 14 sous of Barcelona.

October 7, 1210

Be it known to all that I, Ramon, treasurer of Sant Joan, acting for myself, the church of Sant Joan, and all my successors, release [diffinio] without reservation you, Arnau, son of Guerau de Paliol, along with your children and property, movable and immovable, those you now have and shall possess in the future wherever, without reservation, for you to keep inviolably. I shall never act against this charter and release in any way, nor may nor shall any person privily or from afar. Rather let you be free and absolved along with your children and possessions wherever located and without any deception. And for this release I receive from you 14 sous of Barcelona, whose payment I acknowledge, renouncing any exception on the basis of uncounted money or any written or unwritten law.
