Cartulary of Lavaix, folio 43v, ed. Ignasi Puig i Ferreté, El cartoral de Santa Maria de Lavaix: el monestir durant els segles XI - XIII (La Seu d'Urgell, 1984), no. 60, p. 105.

Ponç d'Erill and his wife Ermessèn give the place of Miravet to the monastery of Lavaix along with a man in each of their castles.

January 17, 1161

In the name of God and in honor of the undivided Trinity. I, Ponç d'Erill, and my wife Ermessèn give Miravet entirely to Santa Maria de Lavaix as its own alod. Just as we have it, so we give it for the property of the aforesaid church for the remedy of our souls and bodies, that God might aid us in this world and dispose all our works towards good. Similarly I, Ponç and my wife Ermessèn, give from each castle that we have of Ramon Berenguer* a man for the illumination of the lamp before the altar of Santa Maria and for oil, to the lords of the same place [ i.e. the monastery].
Signed Ponç and signed Ermessèn, who asked that this charter of donation be written and asked witnesses to sign, and with their own hands placed marks [puncta posuerunt]. Signed Bernat de Beranui. Signed Pere de la Sclusa. Signed Ramon d'Erill, witnesses.
This charter of donation was done on the 16th kalends of February, in the year of the Lord's Incarnation 1160, in the reign of Ramon, Count of Barcelona in Aragon, and in Pallars, Count Arnau, in the time of Ramon d'Erill and Pere, abbot and archdeacon of Roda.
Pere, priest, wrote this as requested and made this signature on the day and year as above.

*This appears to mean, according to the editor, that they hold these unspecified castles from Ramon Berenguer IV, Count of Barcelona.
