Guillem de Sargantans recognizes that he and his children and possessions belong to the Knights Templar.

July 9, 1229.

Be it known to all that I, Guillem de Sargantans, son of Bernat de Sargantans and his wife Maria, now deceased, with good and free will recognize and acknowledge in truth that my body, all the children I have and should have, and all my possessions that I now or will have, belong to the army of the Temple and its brethren. Such that neither I nor mine can ever claim any lord except the brothers of the Temple, and no prescrpition of time or habitation in a town, city or fortress may in any way aid me nor damage the said army of brethren. And for the possession of my body and those of my children or my possessions I and mine give to you, brethren, one pair of capons annually at the feast of All Saints. To strengthen this further, I, the said Guillem de Sargantans, swear with my own hands by God and on the Four Holy Gospels that I will obey and fulfill for all time as written above. Moreover I recognize and acknowledge that my father and mother belonged to the said army of the Temple.
