Appendix F
Toledo Population Figures

[372] As with Madrid (see Chapter 2), the sources for the population of Toledo are varied and impressionistic, being based upon a handful of census-like documents created by the civil or religious hierarchies for their own purposes. Until Michael Weisser completes the work on Toledo which he has under way as this is being written, we will have to be satisfied with fragmentary data. Table F. 1 summarizes figures encountered in various primary and secondary sources.
